Research goals:
I am interested in
understanding and building intelligent systems that
can interact with the real world, taking the best decisions under
uncertainty. Based on probabilistic graphical models and decision
theory, I am extending and applying these representations to mobile
robotics, computer vision, energy and bio-medicine. Current research areas:
- Video surveillance - person and vehicle recognition, activity analysis, ontologies
- Energy applications - wind prediction, diagnosis, energy markets
- Virtual rehabilitation - affective computing, adaptation, automatic evaluation
- Graphical models - multilabel classification, causal models
- Service robots - navigation, manipulation, human-robot interaction
Research proyects:
- SMARTSDK [Spanish]- A FIWARE-based Software Development Kit for Smart Applications for the needs of Europe and Mexico
- CEMIE-Eolico - Intelligent systems for wind farms
- Gesture therapy - Virtual system for upper extremities rehabilitation
- Markovito
- A service robot
