I am member of the Laboratory of Language Technologies of the Computational Sciences Department at the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE). My research is on Automatic Text Processing. My interests include:
- Statistical-based models for question answering
- Multi-stream question answering systems
- Methods for dynamic (query-dependend) information fusion
- Image retrieval combining textual and visual information
- Information retrieval using conceptual graphs
- Multilingual document clustering and classification
- Text classification based on language models and maximal sequences
- Supervised and semi-supervised information extraction systems
- Text classification using the Web as corpus
I am also member of the Mexican National Researchers System (SNI I), the Mexican Society of Artificial Intelligence (SMIA), the Mexican Society of Computer Science (SMCC), the Spanish Society for Natural Language Processing (SEPLN), and founder member of the Mexican Association for Natural Language Processing (AMPLN).
