Research goals:
I am interested in
understanding and building intelligent systems that
can interact with the real world, taking the best decisions under
uncertainty. Based on probabilistic graphical models and decision
theory, I am extending and applying these representations to mobile
robotics, computer vision, energy and bio-medicine. Current research areas:
- Causal discovery - learning causal models from observational and interventional data
- Reinforcement learning - integrating causality and reinforcement learning
- Virtual rehabilitation - affective computing, adaptation, neuro-imaging
- Graphical models - multilabel and hierarchical classification, dynamic modelling and applications
- Service robots - robot learning, manipulation, human-robot interaction
Research proyects:
- Causal Discovery - Learning graphical causal models and applications in robotics and neural connectivity
- Gesture therapy - Virtual system for upper extremities rehabilitation
- Markovito
- A service robot
